Bleedstopper Catastrophic Bleeding
About the Course
This course tells you how to control catastrophic bleeding using the BleedStopper catastrophic bleeding control kits.
Tourniquets and Haemostatic Dressings if used correctly are now allowed to be used in first aid since the changes in 2015 ERC first aid recommendations and the 2017 Tourniquet changes. Catastrophic bleeding is life-threatening and can kill someone in minutes, so having a fast and effective method of stopping bleeding is an essential life skill in the workplace, for those who are out and about and at home.
You will be taught how to use the main types of commercial tourniquets such as CAT, MAT, SOFT T, SAM XT, STAT and Improvised Tourniquets. The use of Haemostatic dressings from Celox, Quick Clot, Axiostat and other Haemostatic dressings and powders are also included. You will learn the use of trauma dressings including the Air Wrap dressings.
